If a group of equivalent
protons A couple with two
(M, X)
or more other groups of protons, then
- the number of the individual
lines that are resolved in the spectrum and
- the pattern of relative intensities
of the individual lines
of the multiplet signal from the protons A
depends strongly on the ratio between the coupling constants JAM and JAX.
Therefore every case requires careful consideration. In this section
